The 7th Striking for Gold Charity Bowling Event will take place Saturday, September 16, 2023, at Armadilla Lanes in Pasadena.
Bowlers of all ages and abilities will participate in what is sure to be a great time for an even greater cause. We have raised almost $100,000 in the six years we have held this event. This money has eased the burdens of many families – from living expenses and meals to medical needs, scholarships, and more.
Childhood Cancer is not rare. Each year, over 17,000 U.S. children are diagnosed with some form of cancer. This means each day of the year, more than 45 families hear the life-changing words, “Your child has cancer.” In January 2014, we became one of these families when our daughter, Paige, was diagnosed with an aggressive form of leukemia. Our sweet girl battled the cancer beast three times in less than three years before stepping into Heaven in October 2016.
As we discovered throughout our journey, no family fights alone. We were blessed by the support we received during Paige’s treatment and work to honor her memory by helping others on this road. Striking for Gold brings us together to make a difference in the lives of childhood cancer families across the greater Houston area!
